The Deceased, new cocktail bar with a daringly macabre theme situated in Kuala Lumpur is one of the bars you should add to your list today.  This hidden bar in ChinaTown offers you a whole new level of crazy concept – only the dead, step in if dare. Moreover, with Chinese “pantang larang”, it gives you a quick scary as soon as you entrance the bar…

As you enter the door, you’ll be welcomed by a shadowy staircase to the next floor, with blood red hand trail on the wall lead you up surely it’s as spooky as hell! However, it’s nice to see that once inside, it’s pretty chill since the living are around you (well, we mean the bartenders are friendly), and ready to serve you with best cocktails on your laid-back evening.

The Deceased has both outdoor and indoor space for you to choose (pssst, we’d suggest outdoor area to have some chill nights with your pals!). What’s even better is that their cocktails are chillingly cool and crafted by mixologist Steven Wan whom has just came back from Singapore before The Deceased was born. So, let’s get to know ‘em cocktails!

There are 6 cocktails on the main menu, which are specially crafted under his sleeves. No joke, anything goes through his hands come out cleverly that suits to the concept of The Deceased itself. From Chinese rose liquor to vodka infused with red dates, oolong tea to rice wine, or star anise to green bananas, he does all pretty fine for us to enjoy.

There are various of booze-based drink you can order but but we’d like to recommend two cocktails we love the most:

Tea of OblivionForget the past, worry not the future, drink this and let the fates decides. It won’t pinch your pennies because with only RM35, you’ll taste the perfect mix of black tea infused gin, passion fruit, fresh lemon juice and soda water.

Petty Person Betting Having a hated neighbor, workplace nemesis, or love rival? Order this and beat them up. Costs you only RM38, Steven Wan will add tusk (Malaysia rice wine), gin, fresh lime juice, kumquat and tonic water to be mixed and serve it very well to you. If you like something sweet and sour at the same time, you should definitely go with this!

We advise you to make a reservation before you come over, especially on the weekend unless you’re fine with long queue. Check the details below to book and dress up! There are some good spots for your next Instagram post.
