Have you told your friends that you love them at 2 a.m.? Or have you ever drank so much vodka last night and woke up with a Russian accent?
That might be a sign that you actually can’t stay sober while drinking.

Most important amongst all, know your limit. Everyone handles alcohol differently, and since your body is yours, you have to know how much alcohol you can handle without losing control. Most people find that no more than a drink an hour will keep them in control and avoid drunkenness. It could be a shot, a pint of beer, a glass of wine or a mixed drink as long as you keep only one drink per hour. But really, can you?
If not, then it’s as simple as drink water and eat before and while you drink alcohol. This helps your body slow down how quickly the alcohol is absorbed, stay hydrated all night long and avoid negative effects. Though it won’t cure a hangover at once, food and water may ease some of the symptoms including nausea, sensitivity to light, headache, achy muscles, diarrhea and poor motor skills which are a direct result of dehydration.
You have to sip your drink slowly too. Try and enjoy it slowly instead of downing it, unless your goal is to get wasted. Why you have to drink slowly to stay sober? The faster you consume alcohol, the quicker it’ll enter your bloodstream, and the more effects it’ll evoke. If you gulp a drink, you’re losing a pleasure of drinking; tasting and smelling the flavours. All in all, drinking alcohol fast will get you drunk quicker.
Make mixed booze yourself. Instead of having a full shot, you can use a half shot of alcohol and fill the rest up with a soda or mixer. Not only it gives you a comfortable aftertaste, but this combo also prevents you from any negative effects caused by drinking alcohol too much. Remember, we don’t say mixing it with diet soda because it may actually increase intoxication. Enjoy your alcohol responsibly.
Beer before liquor, never been sicker; liquor before beer, you’re in the clear. Totally. This means that you have to know what you’re drinking. While you probably will accept any drinks at the party, mixed drinks often can be wildly in strength. This happens when you mix types of alcohol like liquor, beer, and wine at the same time. You have no idea how much alcohol you’ve consumed after that.
Eat a spoonful of yeast. Oh.. Wait, what?! You heard it right. Yeast. It’s possible to negate some effects of the alcohol as it breaks apart alcohol molecules in the same way your liver does to metabolize alcohol. You can either mix yeast into yogurt to snack before drinking or add one teaspoon of yeast per beer to prevent alcohol gets into your system.
Unsatisfied because you can’t drink as many as you want? Then here it is, build up your own alcohol tolerance! The more regularly you drink, the faster your body will adapt to the feeling of drunkenness. It’s common if you get drunk at first everytime you drink, but after several times the more you drink the greater your tolerance will be. One glass per hour? Aw, hell naw!
All in all, alcohol is a perfect companion for any occasion and if you choose to drink please make sure drunk you doesn’t do shit that sober you has to deal with later ;)
