Ripe citrus fruits such as lemons and mandarin oranges combined with mineral aromas and a touch of honey, almonds, and very seductive notes of vanilla.

Why Do We Love This?

The fruit for this Chardonnay comes from the municipality of Santo Domingo in theLeyda Valley, which is part of the larger San Antonio Valley. The vineyard is greatlyinfluenced by the Pacific Ocean, which is just 20 km away. The first soil horizon has aclay texture with moderate depth and less than 3% of organic matter. The secondhorizon has different types of clay and lends structure and concentration to the fruit,and finally, the third horizon is compact granite with calcium carbonate in some areas.The vineyards were planted 7 years ago on hillsides with a north-western orientationwith a density of 6,200 plants/hectare.The fruit was hand-picked to ensure it reached the winery in optimal conditions.The grapes were destemmed, crushed, macerated at 10oC, and then pressed. Theresulting must be decanted, and a percentage was fermented in stainless steeltanks and the rest in French oak barrels. After 4 months, the two lots wereblended and bottled.
