Royal Salute, the “King of Whisky”, continues to honour polo the “Sport of Kings” with the release of an all-new limited-edition blend: Royal Salute 21 Year Old Polo Estancia Edition.

The Royal Salute 21 Year Old Polo Estancia Edition is the fourth release in the annual Royal Salute Polo Collection, kick-starting a new line of inspiration for the range, celebrating iconic polo destinations. This all-new expression pays tribute to one of the most emblematic polo locations and home of the sport, Argentina.

The new liquid is presented in Royal Salute’s signature porcelain flagon, coloured in a deep terracotta glaze with gold details inspired by the warm hues cast by Argentinian sunsets, housed in a stunning gift box depicting the lifestyle of an Argentinian Polo Estancia.

The Royal Salute 21 Year Old Polo Estancia Edition has been expertly crafted by Royal Salute Master Blender Sandy Hyslop, and endorsed by long-standing World Polo Ambassador Malcolm Borwick.

The new expression is the first Scotch whisky from the Royal Salute portfolio to be fully finished in the finest Malbec wine casks from Argentina. The result is a full-bodied, velvety and luxuriously fruity blend, offering rich hints of raspberry and blackberry compote, notes of gently spiced cinnamon, followed by plum jam and indulgent dark chocolate ginger sweets.

Malbec is a purple grape variety used in making red wine. Malbec is the most widely planted red grape variety in the country and the most exported wine of Argentina. Argentine Malbec wine is characterized by its deep colour and intense fruity flavours with a velvety texture. The main fruit flavours in a glass of Argentine Malbec are blackberry, plum, and black cherry. The nuanced flavours offer milk chocolate, cocoa powder, violet flowers, leather, and, depending on the amount of oak aging, a sweet tobacco finish.
